yep , I knew a kid in the mid sixties , he broke his neck , severed his spinal cord . I was in the hospital at the same time as him with a broken back but my spinal cord was fine . A year later I was over at his house to see his younger brother . There he was in a high backed old fashioned wooden wheelchair hooked up to a catheter and a huge container of beer all tied up to the wheelchair . Was probably a disheartening sight seeing me walking around like nothing ever happened .
