MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — Police say an Indiana woman stabbed another woman in the eye with a fork in a dispute over the last rib at a barbecue.
The Star Press reports a 45-year-old woman was arrested Sunday night on a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness.
An affidavit says the woman was attending a barbecue in Muncie when she raised the ire of the host’s daughter by “taking the last rib from the kitchen.”
The affidavit says the woman told police that the daughter accused her of “taking all the food,” so she stabbed her in the eye.
Police say the woman maintains she acted in self-defense and that the homeowner’s daughter was brandishing a knife.
The woman was in the Delaware County jail on $5,000 bond as of Tuesday.

We were at a tiny little cook-off one year, one of the contestants had an emergency and had to leave right before rib turn in. He asked if we would do the turn in for him.
We said sure, and off he went.
We fixed up his box, then walked around and asked the other cooks to try Wayne's ribs, we then turned it in, mostly half eaten ribs and a few clean bones.
Out of 8 cooks, Wayne placed 6th.
So two cooks ribs were so bad Wayne beat them with a horror of a box.

My ten year old daughter will go into a major conniption if she doesn't get something she wanted to eat. But it's ok if she eats the last of it and the rest of us don't get any. It worries me...

Aren't little kids supposed to be selfish little brats? Here's hoping she grows out of it.

Her little sister isn't. And we weren't allowed to be. I am trying to get across to her how bad that looks. Her selfishness looks. And it really won't get her anywhere in life except in trouble.

You are exactly right. Won't serve her well as she ages.

I've explained over and over that the amount of times she pesters me for something will NOT increase her chances of getting it. In fact, it works the opposite direction.

That's how my brain works too. The more you nag me the less chance you are gonna get what you are nagging about. Gee, wouldn't you think they would figure that out and shut up?????

Her little sister has already figured that out. Speaks volumes IMHO.
