Yesterday I found a notice in my USPO box telling me a rate increase was going into effect om May 31, if I wanted to keep my old rate I needed to renew by May 30th to save some money.Back at home I looked up my records and found my box was paid for until the end of August. I went back to the PO to ask if i could pay now to save the cost of the increase. The clerk looked up my account and told me that since my box rent did not expire until August I could not renew this far ahead of time. They only accept renewal payments made within 30 days of the expiration date. I then ask what the new rate would be and was told they didnt know yet.
They are losing billions, I wanted to give them my money, they would not accept it because it was around 30 days too early to be accepted by their accounting system. Seems like folks who want to give them money early would be welcomed with open arms and a gracious THANKS.
Our government at their best ?

Sounds like business as usual to me.
We have a wonderful postwoman but there is one in our area who is a complete incompetent. Many complaints have been filed against him. Are they going to get rid of him? They say they can't. Sheeeeeesssssssshhhhhhhhhh.

Working to love my fellow person regardless : >

Having worked for the USPS, I understand why it's rare to fire someone. THE UNION! Now if it's theft, they're out of there! I missed something that happened about 8 ft. away from my cage. My friend Paul said "Did you see that?!" No, I didn't. Two inspectors swooped down, got the gal sitting next to him and had her handcuffed and out of there in mere seconds. BTW, by cage I mean a real cage about 20' by 15' with a .44 in the safe. I did registered mail. I had the only key and often wondered what would happen if I collapsed or something. There was another key but it was in a safe that only the postmaster had the combination. He wasn't there at night. However, he lived just a couple miles away, thank goodness.

When the USPS finally goes out of business, all the employees will fit seamlessly into the Obamacare system.
