He had shoulder surgery in December that fixed an injury from his true freshman year; has played the last two years with a brace.
He played three positions in the Iowa game; started at LT; moved to RT; and played last three series at Center. First time he has ever snapped in a game.

Big kid, Bodine! I know you are proud of him. Hope he heals and holds up for football this year.

Thanks.
I will be happier when he finally graduates with his Civil Engineering degree. Been really hard to get labs in around football practice. Current coach will not let him miss practice to go to class; he has to be done by 1:30 every day.
He has grown some; those are his numbers from his freshman year; he is now 6'6" and 315 lbs. Last year he was benching 425 and squatting 610. He has only been cleared to lift weights for three weeks, and he was already back up to 315 on his bench. He should be ready for fall camp...
And he has a steady girlfriend, too. Part of the reason he did not come home this summer; he also has an internship this summer with Purdue's maintenance department. And he wanted to rehab there; not here.

I love the way you view things. He is blessed to have you as an example.

Thanks, grouchy, but we have always had high expectations for our kids.
I am the one who has been blessed. One of the greatest days of my life was his first start last year; I got to be there. I was an emotional wreck, but he played so well, it was an awesome experience. And after the game, the look on his face, because he knew he had nailed it...
One of the funnier notes from that weekend; daughter got to play in her first college vb match the Friday night before the Purdue opener; his roommates/teammates were giving him major grief that his freshman sister played college ball before he did as a redshirt sophomore. Unfortunately, she didn't play very much after that, and he did, but she had a tremendous academic year. And she loves it in NC...
