Not the gulf coast or the east coast its west coast or broke for us.
Moms birthday is next week so wife and I head out this morning. Our kids and grand kids leave this afternoon . Fun activities planned for the upcoming days. Friday night in Laughlin NV, cheap room, good burger, almost dive bar w/music. Girls get to attend a bridal shower, lingere theme iiirc, on Sat. Then in no order, whale watching trip , Disneyland , beach , 4 Corners , Texas Outdoor Musical , and we have to visit Jackalope in Santa Fe.

Foods been portion and vac sealed for our parrot.

A steak was grilled yesterday in the rain , then cut, portioned and frozen or refrigerated for Cooper the super dog to be given with his medications. Those meds were organized in 7 day am/pm containers.

still haven't pack

have drank 3 cups of coffee

It sounds like you've done a remarkable job getting ready for your trip (well except for that packing for you). I know you'll have a wonderful time if you get your clothes packed. Otherwise, it might be more expensive than you've planned! Get moving!
:P

Sounds like a fun trip, if you are taking the northern route back, don't miss Meteor Crater.

Have fun. I hope to be able to take my girls out that way so they can see the Grand Canyon one day. We were doing good to afford a few days in Galveston.

Sounds like you have a lot planned.

So made it back and only had a few interesting times on the highways, by ways and freeways between the coast, the one with the real big body of water, and here.

There are a lot of dumb drivers on our highways, had 2 close calls caused by idiots passing on a 2 lane road. One liked doing it where it posted no passing, opposing traffic didn't. Another thought it was smart to continue passing me while everyone in front, including the truck that had passed me and was still in the opposing lane 70+ - 20 happened real quick for everyone headed my direction. These happened Saturday while driving up to 4 corners. Sunday a couple 18 wheelers almost collided in front of me when one entering the freeway didn't realize he didn't have a lane available. Made it thru the Cajon Pass on I 15 Friday about an hour before it was closed by the wildfire that ignited cars.

Saw a couple of blue whales, close enough to one feel its spout, about 30 feet away.

I miss the ocean, don't miss the CA attitude projected by what I think are mostly non natives.

Being with family trumped all that though, I'm sure. Really, really glad you had that part of the highway under your belt by the time the fire started. I do love California, but I don't want to live there.
