What I posted on DD Facebook

I HEARBY DECLARE... the Dallas Digest Facebook page a complete, unmitigated, 100 percent TOTAL SUCCESS. True, some people had their doubts when Kevin delivered the coup de grace to the quivering remains of the old DD discussion board, but the new version of the old girl has sprung to vibrant life and is everything that her predecessor was meant to be. People are chatting politely over the backyard fence rather then throwing darts at one another and participation is good and getting better. Here's to the DD Facebook page. Long may she wave!

Not a bad start. This board can be read without joining, so it's probably getting a lot of lurkers. You have to join the Facebook group in order to read the posts, so it's probably going to always have more members.

I would have joined both but I'm not a member of facebook.
Is Kevin a member here or just the FB one?

Kevin is a member here, but I don't think he has posted here.
I prefer a discussion board to the FB format.
I find that I am spending less time on the 'net, and that is probably a good thing.
Several people over there never come over here.

I joined under a fake name and an email address that I use only for receipt confirmation when I shop online. It contains zero contacts.
When I go over to FB, I keep getting messages of "let us help you find your contacts". hahahahhaha

I think Dallas Digest FB achieves exactly what most nonconfrontational members of the old discussion board wanted — polite chat, peace and harmony. With members' names in public view, it almost has to be that way. Some of the things being said on the old site could get a person killed.
I spend most of my time over here because I enjoy the occasional bit of disharmony, plus Facebook doesn't lend itself to the massive amount of cut and pasting that I do. The mechanics of this board are excellent.

Does this mean we are now the Dark Side?
The bastard child?
The misfits?
I love it!

Could you give me an idea who the non confrontational members are?

I suppose Bob and his endless posting of politically left wing articles to what are disproportionately Conservative people..is "non confrontational,"

I do both this site and Facebook. I like the banter here, and I like the postings on Facebook. The thing I like best about Facebook is the ability to block certain people so that I never ever have to see them again. So far most of those people are not here on this site.
