A 1933 photo has been leaked from the British Royal Archive of the Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth II and her sister Margaret giving the Nazi salute.
Elizabeth and Margaret were small children so no one is upset about that. What is embarrassing is that they appear to be following instructions from their elders, Edward Prince of Wales and his mother.

Edward would become King Edward VIII in 1936. He would abdicate 11 months later to "marry the woman I love"- American divorcee Wallis Simpson.
At least that is the official version of events.

The truth was that Edward was a Nazi sympathizer and Simpson was a Nazi spy milking Edward for diplomatic and military information.
They were found out and the British government gave the King the choice of resigning or being publicly exposed.
A cover story was concocted and Edward resigned.
I think that is an interesting piece of history. There was a TV documentary about this called Britain's Nazi King.

I don't know about the Nazi spy bit..but a little perspective.

In 1933, Hindenburg..who ran against Hitler and beat him..was the leader of Germany..the two were political opponents and adversaries. Hitler was not yet in power, but was already making trouble and threatening people.

Most of the world was still trying to figure out what to make of Hitler.

Shortly after..Hindenburg died..Hitler made his move. Hitler was never elected.

And this part of the British Royal family was of German descent..it stands to reason some would have strong opinions vis a vis Germany.

Edward moved to France along with Simpson, after he abdicated, and was still there when the War broke out.
He made defeatist speeches urging England to sue for peace. We also know he was in contact with members of Hitler's government who wanted to restore him to the throne when England was defeated. Edward was all for it.

Ok..this part is new for me.

As President, Hindenberg appointed Hitler as Chancellor (equivalent of Prime Minister and the actual head of government). Since he was the elected member of the German parliament that headed the largest faction this was just the normal working of a parliamentary system, although Hindenberg is often blamed for not coming up with some sort of coalition to prevent it.

Hitler was never elected to the Germain Parliament (Reichstag).

Not sure why this video has ben released, all it can do is embarrass the queen as everyone else on the film is dead and buried.
She was a child and is innocently giving the salute which she would have no idea what it would come to represent.
Everyone knows about the royal families Geman ties.......imo this is much ado about nothing.

maybe it was released to embarrass the Queen Zelda . I imagine that the Queen has many enemies .

In Judism ethnicity is determined by the mother. The race of the sperm doner is not important. Kates mother is Jewish. So, Kate is too and so will be all of her children.

What is your evidence that Kate's mother is Jewish?
