A Rational, Responsible Republican Finally Enters the Race

And it's about time!
Ohio Gov. John Kasich launched his bid for the White House on Tuesday, entering the crowded Republican field with a pledge to use lessons from the heartland to straighten out Washington.
Mr. Kasich is the 16th—and perhaps final—major Republican candidate to join the GOP fray, and he noted repeatedly in his campaign kickoff speech that many people questioned whether he could win. He told the crowd at Ohio State University that he has proved doubters wrong in the past and that he was well prepared to lead the country.
“I have the experience and the testing—the testing which shapes you and prepares you for the most important job in the world,” Mr. Kasich said. “And I believe I know how to work and help restore this great United States. And I have to tell you, it’s a daunting challenge.”

Well, he's certainly no George W. Bush. Or Rick Perry. But, if you look at his qualifications for office there's really nobody who is even a close 2nd. We put all of this emphasis on what we think a persons position is on issues. Then they are elected and we find out that they lied. Remember the "compassionate conservative"? And I think your wrong about his position on Obamacare. I believe he opposed it.

Mark's right. The is the squishiest of the Republicans in the race.
Go back and listen to his painfully boring and rambling speech yesterday to announce.
Endless progressivism.

Competence is not very sexy, it's usually boring. Rationality is very humdrum. It's the bombthowers like Trump that attract Boobus Americanus.

We were discussing Kashich and you brought up the opinion that he was "pro immigrant". What I don't understand is what you mean.

I think Kasich prefers the amateurs. It's the pros who are really causing problems.
