Channel 8 has a news segment--the woman who hosted the pool party in McKinney that went wrong....She says they are going to evict her because she is behind on her payments..Reason she is behind, she says, is because she had to take off work for a few days to straighten out things after the "event."
As far as I know, a person has to be behind for 3-4 months before the process begins to evict a person.
The pool party was in June.
Woman has some friends who have stepped up to pay her rent of over $1,600.
I think she is scamming her neighbors.

I think you are right, LL. It could be that she saw how well whining worked for the Oregon bakery owners so thought maybe it would work for her too......and she has a lot of gullible acquaintances.

She's in a rent house that's owned by an individual.

I missed that. Same thing in Plano. Investors are buying up homes and renting them out. I get 2 or 3 requests a month now to buy mine. This is going to have very negative effects on these neighborhoods. We need a housing crash.

Uh, if you're renting it's eviction not repossession. It she doesn't own the house there's nothing to repo..............which makes people who gave her money even more gullible.

If she's behind on her rent, it does not take 3 or 4 months to evict. No where close to that. It only takes a few days.

Sometimes it takes more time because it's hard to get sheriff's deputies or constables out to the home. We've owned rental homes most of our married life. The most egregious of evictions was a home in Virginia. We had a "property manager" and they deducted their fee from rent payments, and deposited the rest in an account in our name, supposedly. We didn't know there was a problem till our next door neighbor (in Virginia) called and said "I know it's none of my business, but they are destroying your house. Windows are broken, the grass hasn't been mowed........" Steve immediately went through our statements and realized nothing had been deposited from the property managers. I think it was about 4 or 5 months.
And on repos....it takes a lot longer. I think I've mentioned the neighbors with 7 kids that moved in next door. I didn't know for awhile, that the .gov helped them get the house. They never paid ANYTHING after moving in. They had a wonderful summer though. What .gov official helps a family move into a house with a swimming pool and tennis court? The foreclosure papers were filed the day after Labor Day. They didn't get out till late April and took the beautiful painted sinks and the vanities! Clothes and debris all over the house. The lawyer who used to own it, assured me that the papers would be submitted on Tuesday, when I begged him to move back in! LOL! I didn't realize he'd actually sold the house to a couple before and had to foreclose on them. He was DONE then and sold the place. It sat empty for a long time before the bank sent our some workers to get it cleaned up.
