Who won?

Postby BillB » Fri Aug 07, 2015 8:27 am

I watched the debate last night and not sure what to make of it.

I don't think Trump helped himself. I'll give him an F. It'll probably be the end of today before any reliable polls start being posted.

I'm not sure who won.
Here are the people who I don't think set the world on fire:
Trump
Walker
Bush
Carson
Paul

Did ok:
Christie
Cruz
Rubio
Huckabee
Kasich

I pretty much agree with you, and I think Carly and Rick will move up.

Much buzz about how "mean" the questioners were.

I guess the nay sayers have forgotten how in the tank the MSM is for Hillary, and how the MSM attacks anyone from the GOP.

Remember Candy Crowley?
It's a joke son,I say a joke

Carly was definitely the class of the group. I think she'll move up. Unless a lot of dirt is dumped on her I think she'll wind up the nominee.
Perry is doing better than he did in 2012. He may edge in to the first group.

Cruz, Huckabee, get a plus from me. Trump was just his mean old self, nothing Presidential there, Jeb failed to show any spunk at all. Most of the rest were, imho, a group of "also ran"

I don't think Troomp did anything to hurt himself, so he wins.

I don't think "Presidential" means anything any more..nor does it have any value.

And if Trump stops being his mean old self..he's all done.

I think he hurt himself. We'll just have to wait and see.

I like Carly.
Unless something big happens to push her to the front page, she is being ignored.

Jeb: He was so lackluster. His voice had no energy.
I wonder if he really wants the job or is running because others think he should.

I think something big happened last night. Fiorina's the talk of all the pundits this morning.

Bush just doesn't have it. He'll be gone soon.

The mistake you're making is thinking that the debates matter.

The pundits have a lot to talk about today..that's about it.

I think they do matter.
Rick Perry was sent to oblivion in 2012 by his debate brain lock. He had been the front runner. He never came back.
Fred Thompson was ruined as front runner by his 2008 debate performance.
Al Gore's sighing while Bush talked lost him 10 points in 2000.
Ford's Eastern Europe gaffe probably cost him the election against Carter in 1976.

Huckabee won for me.
Cruz did ok.
R. Paul is a joke, can't imagine him as president. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Bush not impressive at all.
Trump in it for the publicity.
The rest were just there, did nothing to advance further.

Earlier lower 7 debate was a Perry - Fiorina tie.

That's close to what I thought.
I think Fiorina did a little better than a tie.

Rand didn't handle it very well, but someone needs to tell the Fat F***** from Jersey that the Fourth Amendment is not "Hot Air".

Agreed regarding Christie, but I don't think Paul handled it all that poorly. Christie is a Big Government ass, and needs to be bounced from the race.

Rand looks like a Skid Row derelict. He needs some help with that.
He needs to at least, shave and comb his hair.
A shirt that wasn't a couple of sizes too big wouldn't hurt, either.
My wife put it best- 'he looks like he ate supper out of a dumpster'.

Yeah, I believe I read that Paul cuts his own hair. Looks like it too. His father wasn't noted as a dresser either.

Ron Paul wasn't a dresser but he always looked neat and clean.

I missed that. What did he say?
