First one that pops into my head is the Southern poverty center induced the guy to shoot up the Family research office, he actually admitted he did this because SPLC calls FRC a hate group.

I will add the overwhelming number of non-violent criminals are Democrats, also.

Cruz was just blowing smoke. As usual.

Cruz said, "Here’s the simple and undeniable fact: The overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats."

Research cited by the Cruz campaign supports the claim that, in at least three states, felons released from prison go on to register as Democrats at a disproportionately high rate following their release.

However, there are important caveats. The study in question looked at both violent and nonviolent felons without separating out those two groups. It’s not clear whether the patterns holds in the other 47 states. Also, the study didn’t look at active "criminals" but rather those who had already served their time. Finally, it’s hard to draw a line between cause and effect, particularly given the disproportionately high population of African-Americans -- a traditionally Democratic group -- in the criminal justice system.

We rate his statement Mostly False.

If criminals were not overwhelming Democrats; the Democrats would not be so hep up on giving them voting privileges.

AGREED , personally I think that once a criminal , ex criminal after serving the time should have ALL Rights restored . If they can't be trusted to be good citizens then they should stay in jail . Dems and libs want to restore voting because that adds to their base supporters .

Next up: party affiliations of the elected who have or are serving time for felonies.

Up for that?

So, you're suggesting that perhaps the non-violent felons register as Democrats, while the violent felons register as Republicans? Or are you saying that the documented fact that felons overwhelmingly register as Democrats in the three states studied can't reasonably be extrapolated to apply to the other 47 states as well?
