It wasn't a picnic here either. Our son lives at I 30 and the tollway. He watched it go right over his condo and hit on I 30. IF I had looked out, I would have seen the tornado hit Rowlett. We're on the hill (ridge) and the house faces west and the lake. I can't believe we didn't get hit. I only went out to the patio (faces east). The wind was so bad, and I did hear the roar.. I jumped back into the house. We're pretty sure that was the one from Forney moving into Rockwall but it was just a bit east of us. We have no idea how much damage we have and won't until it's daylight.

Our youth minister lives in Rowlett. Tornado knocked out the cell tower near her, but she checked in that she is OK.
I'm sad for the families who have experienced trauma.

My son's truck was blown of the road near Post, he is OK, holed up in a motel until a wrecker can get to him.

I don't remember ever having tornados in December here before. At least in the spring it clears up the next day. It's still raining and cold, 42 degrees.

I don't remember nothin like this. If we had only listened to Algore and built more windmills we could have avoided all this.

We're officially a disaster area in Collin county. Garland was a cat 4 and Rowlett a cat 3. Nine tornados total. 11 people dead, most in Garland. 11 inches of snow in Lubbuck now. They are naming storms now like hurricanes. This one is called Goliath!
Snowing off and on in Burelson according to the radio at 3am.

We had a tornado in December when we lived on the ranch. No damage to the house but one barn was destroyed. It was right across the road. And it was a one lane road! My daughter had her hands over her ears and yelled "Why doesn't God make it stop!"
We have roof damage but won't be able to get an adjuster out here for quite awhile. That's what happens when you live on a hill overlooking the lake. Son's condo is OK. The tornado hit on I 30 just 200 yards from his house. He's right at the end of George Bush and I 30.
Daughter was going to leave the mountain top in AZ early Saturday morning and drive here with her daughter. McKenna is being admitted to Children's Hospital in Dallas. But they had a blizzard going on and she knew she'd have to drive in the storm all the way. Thank God she didn't start out. I don't know if she's even going to be able to leave tomorrow because of all the snow in west TX. She called the hospital and they told her to stay safe and get there when she could. McKenna will be in Children's but under the care of SouthWest Medical doctors. Carrin isn't pleased with medical care in AZ. She was discharged from the Children's Hospital in Phoenix and she was still vomiting.
