Walmart gas in Burleson 10 cents off

Postby Bob Of Burleson » Sat Jun 21, 2014 11:12 am

The Murphy station at the Walmart store in Burleson is 10 cents off for gift card holders this morning, apparently matching (or coming close to matching) HEB's price. Gets it down to $3.369 a gallon. Don't know about other locations. The store had been 3 cents off for gift card holders.

We do most of our grocery shopping at Kroger, because that's what's nearest.

Using their fuel points; I got 90 cents off diesel this afternoon; a fillup for $2.669. Probably pay a bit more for groceries, but everything evens out.

I shop mostly at Kroger. We accumulate several hundred fuel points a month. I don't think their prices are any higher than Tom Thumb or Albertsons. Every story has some things that are a good deal and some things that are not. But there are very few things I won't buy at Kroger because I know I can get it cheaper elsewhere.

Another thing regarding Kroger. If you read your receipt you will find you may use it to reply to their online survey.
One receipt per entry, once per week and Kroger gives you 50 additional fuel points if you have one of their customer shopping cards.
Tea + Water = Tea
Tea + Water + Sweetener = Sweet Tea
Any other designation is redUNdant

Have you filled out the survey? I stopped filling it out due to the very invasive questions. I get enough fuel points to make fill-ups more pleasant, usually about .40 I do buy my gift cards there, too. I try to avoid shopping on the weekends, but I'm not that organized so do get the extra fuel points on weekends occasionally.

The survey questions don't bother me. If I do one survey a week, that's 200 extra fuel points every month.

I got gas at Tom Thumb in Lewisville for $3.34. when Wallmart and QT were $3.59. That was without points and using cask or debit. Credit card was $3.47.
