This is HUGE !

Texas-based Blue Bell Creameries, which stopped production and distribution of ice cream to 25 states in April after the discovery of listeria bacteria, said on Friday that listeria was discovered again in a production facility.

The company did not specify in a statement in which of its three facilities listeria had been found but said that none was found in any of its ice cream. Blue Bell said it is moving to eliminate the bacteria through a "seek and destroy" process.

Good idea, their slogan could be, if our dinner doesn't kill you our dessert will.

TSN news not 30 min ago ran a story that every batch was being tested and no lisreria had been found. Maybe story got behind or ahead of itself but saying there is not problem and there is a problem would just about do the company in.

I've had several cartons of Blue Bell since it returned. I'm still here. But my pants fit a little tight.

They did say it was the Brenham facility and none of the ice cream there has been distributed. The reason I remember is because I thought "Their flagship is the problem?" I just thought it was strange.

Discovering listeria in the production facility and finding in the product are two different things. Listeria is present in the general environment so finding it a facility would not be uncommon. The key is discovering that it's present and getting rid of it before it gets in the product. That's what happened according to the story I read, it was not found in the product.
