Is there anything crazier than a caucus?

I can see it may have served some purpose. 100 years ago. But, the fact that anyone would sit for 2 or 3 hours listening to political BS before being allowed to vote is amazing. And then to add to insult in injury, they don't even record the vote! It's just a show of hands. Of course it's Iowa in the winter. What else is there to do?

Once every four years Iowa and New Hampshire become the most important states in the union. Why would they give that up just because the caucus is meaningless?

I would like to see all primaries/caucuses take place on the same day. It is ridiculous for Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina to be so important in the nomination process.

I'm sure the media love it because it gives them a chance to report on trends and upsets. And fatal gaffs. Without Iowa, we wouldn't have had the Howard Dean scream.

Iowa is of no use to America. Turn it into a toxic waste dump and have their caucuses take place two weeks after the national election. Nobody gives a ***** what your political opinions are in a state that contributes nothing to America.

Ethanol is another example of Iowa having too much influence.

I don't give a rats ass what anyone in Iowa says about anything. Turn it into the place where all toxic waste is dumped and test nuclear weapons there.

The first primaries should be in Texas and California, states that matter. Vastly different politically but they are the bulk of America's economic output. New Hampshire and Iowa should vote at the end of the primary cycle.

Anyone who would consent to sit through 3 hours of political speeches just to vote is too dumb to be allowed to.

That's how the Dem caucuses work. The Republicans write a name on a piece of paper and turn them in.

That, and Huckabee withdrew. Both of his supporters are dismayed.
