I just read..7.9..which may sound like "quibbling"..but there is actually a substantial difference between a 7.9 and an 8.0.

I've noticed here in Earthquake land that..the first reading often gets "adjusted."

The email "news notification" that I get from 2 different sources both said 8.0 in the initial report...........and that is when I reported it (when I got it).
If the authorities change it an hour or so later, I can't help that.

One of those items that so many complain about in other instances, accuracy being overridden by celerity.
