Grandkid bragging

Postby Jami » Mon May 09, 2016 7:22 am

McKenna played her first machine pitch softball game last week. She hit a double and got the game ball. Before the game started, she found $40 near the concession stand. I told her she needed to do the right thing and turn the money in. She did that without hesitation. They took her name and called a few days later saying no one claimed the money so she got to keep it.

Applause!!

She is so cute!
It is fun (for me) to see her photos and hear about her adventures as she grows up.
You are so lucky to be physically close enough to be part of her life.

I'd love that. But I have 10 grands. They used to all live close enough to visit, either them coming here (or to the coast) or us going there. Now two are on a mountain top in AZ. However, I feel more relieved about them because Mike has moved to AZ. He lives in Tempe and it is 3 hours away from them. McKenna has to go to many appointments at the neurology center at Children's Hospital in Phoenix His office and apartment is very close, or as Carrin says "Right there!" Mike is McKenna's "hero" and always has been. So, he can give Carrin and John a break. He took an afternoon off last week and went to see Carly in a play. He called me and said "I thought you were just being a grandmother, but she's terrific!" Yes, she really is that good.

I'm waiting for him now. He's on a business trip and his plane was supposed to land at 5:30 am. Instead of a hotel, he's going to stay here and spend some time with Steve. I "think" Steve has turned the corner, but still has ups and downs.

As reported on the news, the rains are causing snakes to move around.e :D

Yesterday evening Karen sent Trey (11), to get a couple of T posts from a flat bed trailer. He came across a snake. He pinned it down and yelled for her to come with a hoe. It was a big copperhead. He wanted to kill it. Did a good job. She has some pictures of him with a big grin and the dead snake. If I can figure out how to post a pic I will try this evening.
