I have a question about reporting

If you're a news or information group that breaks a story that is true, is it a requirement that you disclose how you got that story?

Now I don't mean giving up confidential sources, I mean if a reporter writes a story that they have gathered facts on, and it is published under their byline,does it matter that they don't tell every step that was taken to gather the info to write the story?

Well to some it makes the story not believable, just due to the fact that the writer didn't crawl under the house personally to find the hidden document.

Remember the uncovered video of Hillary laughing about getting a child rapist off on a technicality?

Well according to Media Matters boss David Brock, it doesn't matter that the reporting is true, all that matters is that the true source of the story wasn't credited in the article.

At no point in Mr, Brocks hit piece on the Washington Free Beacon does he suggest that the story is false, he only attacks the Beacon because they didn't list the source of the story, just that it published the story under the writers byline.

Now just a reminder, Media Matters has never published a story that was even remotely unfavorable to a democrat.They are funded by George Soros and offer vile opinions of anyone with conservative values, and they are a listed 501C3 non-profit.

Saul Alinsky must be very proud of David Brooks for trying to distance this story not because it was false, but because a republican outfit broke the story.
