Wayburn beats Dee Anderson in the primary run off.

I really must not know the whole story. From what I know, Dee Anderson has done a lot of good. Can't understand how he lost.

I know nothing about the new sheriff but from what I have seen of him on TV I think people will be sorry they went that way. He just seems to be too full of himself.

The thing I liked about Dee was that he would sign off on your Class 3 ATF applications.

He appears to be one of the "good ol boys" and not in a good way. I probably spend more time in Tarrant County than where I live in Dallas County. Wished I could have voted for Dee. My mother in law met him in person many years back and really liked him.

Exactly our reaction. His huge white hat annoys me. It makes him a caricature of a Texan.

I recall that nut case that Dallas county elected MANY years ago. I hope this guy is not as bad.

Dee Anderson seemed logical and steady.

So really, does anyone know why and how this happened? Did Anderson mess something up that I am not aware of? Did the Tea party folks decide to put one of their own in. I heard voter turnout was low so it could have been as simple as getting enough of your own people out.

I hear it was low morale within the Department.

And I'm sure it didn't hurt having Chris Kyle's widow working for your campaign either. I didn't realize this guy had challenged Anderson before in 2008.

I voted for Dee both times, just because he was reasonable signing off on ATF Class 3 stuff. But maybe it is time for a change ?

Also Dee looks unhealthy and at least 10 years older than he is, maybe a rest will do him good.

You Dallas County folks need to worry more about the Joke y'all have as Shurf :)

Seriously annoyed that Dee got the boot. He was tough, no-nonsense when it came to criminals, especially stupid ones. But he was a real champ for the citizens... behind them all the way. If there was ever a "constitutional" sheriff, it was Dee Anderson.

Going to be interesting for the next few years.

Good ol Lupe? Seems like we replace one joke with another joke in Dallas County.

Me too. I feel like a citizen since I am over here working every day and spend more of my waking hours in Tarrant county. I agree with you about Dee. But it appears that Wayborn had the law enforcement peeps behind him for reasons I don't understand. And if enough of them got out to vote I guess I can see how he won. I don't think it's going to work out well, but we will see.

I wonder how much Taya Kyle's endorsement helped Waybourn.

Yeah, that...

I made sure to vote in the runoff so I could vote for Anderson.

Dee was at his best years ago as the spokesperson for the Dept.
