I refused to comply a few years back and told the Obamaton to get the F off my porch and never return. They did not return

We were hit with this one probably a decade ago. I refused to complete it and met the info. gatherer at the door when he showed up. Told him, in person, I wouldn't provide the info. and that toilet count, salary, and the other intrusive questions were no one's business. Told him to do whatever they do but I would not comply. Never heard from them again and have never received another form like that.

I will tell my mother that you did that Sue. She knows you in person so that will help her to hear that.

Things may have changed since then but I still wouldn't comply. The guy was shocked that I refused to answer. Kept telling me it was a governmental form and I didn't have a choice. Oh yes I did and my choice was not to share information. He acted like it had never happened to him before. Yeah sure. I wasn't jerky about it, just refused his requests. He was just doing his job.

We had previously gotten the form and had gotten, as I recall, telephone calls too. I had filled out number of people in the household and sex and left the rest of it blank.

I remember my sis telling me it was great for future generations and for genealogy puposes. I told her they could get their research info. from someone else's house 'cause they weren't getting it from mine.

its a slippery slope as you put on your mandated motorcycle helmet or your cars seatbelt or pay your fine or payment for mandated obamacare or fill out the mandated community survey or mandated census . Yep , there are lots of government mandated [forced] mandates here in America , the Land of the Free !! And be careful of the smoking police if you light up a smoke in your privately owned bar , restaurant or casino that wants to allow smoking . Supposedly they are not using your name at all. Only want to know none of their business questions like how many toilets you have, how many times you've been married, your income, memory issues you may have, etc. Don't see how any of that serves geneology.

After 4 visits I ran the Obamatron off as mentioned above.

I have a good friend that practices Law and specializes in a related field of Federal Law, he was unable to find any instance were charges were brought against anyone the refused the American Community Survey nonsense.
