Melania's Speech Plagerized from Michelle Obama's!

Melania Trump delivered the most anticipated speech on the first night of the Republican National Convention, but portions of her remarks bear striking similarities to Michelle Obama's speech to the Democratic National Convention eight years ago.

In a portion of the speech where Trump discussed her upbringing, she said "from a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise; that you treat people with respect."

Roughly eight years earlier, Michelle Obama said that "Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: like you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you're going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect."

That's such a generic platitude, it's probably been in half of all high school and college graduation addresses.

And what does it matter at this time anyway? It's been over 8 hours!

Au contraire. This is all they will talk about now until November.

But don't you dare bring up Joe Biden.

Sorry, but it does match Michelle's speech from 8 years ago. Might as well get real here I watched the line to line and the current Mrs. Trump changed a word or two and did drop one sentence of the comparison I saw. Oh yeah, that's ammunition.

But if somebody were to dig hard enough, they could probably find a speech with the same verbiage that predates Mrs. Obama's address. I'm not holding my breath.

All she has to do is say it was not malevolent and that should be the end of it.

This site gives full paragraphs side by side.

Librarians are speculating about a sabotage by a speech writer.
Speech writers should know that all statements will be examined.
There are programs that will scan and seek matches in a flash (HS and college teachers use these on a regular basis these days).

She was foolish for this exchange:
Before delivering her remarks, Melania Trump told NBC's Matt Lauer that she had only read the speech over once on the plane: "And that's all, because I wrote it with a little help as possible."

She is a woman with a brain, since she is fluent in 5 languages, but she is very, very naive in politics. Trump is skilled at working the media to get attention, but seems to ignore the way the media will hound a politician.

I smell a bunch of gullible suckers that will fall for any thing DNC Media pumps out - it was a bunch of cliches and bromides strung together probably sounds about like any other speech given by a candidates wife in the last 50 years.

So she was supposed to review the speech and immediately recognize remarks Michelle Obama made 8 years ago?

This should have been her speech:

"If my husband is elected president, I will not make any attempt whatsoever to destroy the school lunch programs across America, like my predecessor did. I will only be the president's wife. "First Lady" is not an elected position, and therefore should make NO policy decisions."

She should have then walked off the stage.

it certainly appears that there could be some validity to that.

Mooch was only proud of America once

Whether or not Melania Trump cribbed a passage from a Michelle Obama speech, there is one crucial sentiment Donald Trump’s Slovenian born wife certainly didn’t copy from Obama’s — the inherent pride of being an American citizen.

As the media pours over one passage in Melania Trump’s Republican National Convention speech that is similar to Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech at the Democratic National Convention, they overlook a key sentence that was undeniably written by Mrs. Trump and reveals all the difference in the world between these two women and their husbands.

“On July 28th, 2006, I was very proud to become a citizen of the United States — the greatest privilege on planet Earth,” the smiling Mrs. Trump said to thunderous applause.
