HVAC air filters

We are very, very annoyed.
TIme to change the filter. Ours uses the 4" thick ones that are $$$ but last a year.
Husband purchased a 2 pack. Darn things are 4 3/8" thick instead of 4".
Won't go in the space allocated!

I guess we have to take a tape measure when we shop! Package says they are 4" but they are not!

Returned them to Home Depot.
All at HD were made by Honeywell and my tape measure showed all were 4 3/8" in depth.
Over at Lowe's we found some with same measurements but with an indication that they were "slim built" and they are 4 inches in depth.
Cost more than the "fat" ones.

My contract with my HVAC company includes new filters when they do their spring and fall checkups. I've never had to buy a filter for this system.

The company that put in the system sold us filters until the owner sold the company.
The new owners were not so ethical/honest, so we don't use them anymore.
