Anyone been watching? I've really enjoyed the gymnastics and swimming so far. I was disappointed to miss all the tennis. Not even sure when it came on.

I watched some over the weekend while I was home, but only because my wife was watching it. Otherwise, I don't think I would have bothered with it. Very few comments about it on my Facebook, & what few there are, are from women.

We have watched every night.
Sometimes we watch awhile, then watch something we have recorded and then back to Olympics.

My husband even watched the golf competition. (He loves to watch golf on TV.)

I'm a bit miffed on learning that the runner could legally toss herself across the line.
Loved watching Usian Bolt run.
We have watched 99% of the gymnastics and swimming. Usually we watch more diving than we have this time.

I've watched a little of the track and field because hubby watches it. Not really anything I would be interested in. Same goes for any form of mens and women's volleyball. But my 11 year old daughter is interested in playing so I let her watch. She is going to be a tall girl, so she might do well with volleyball. Better than having to watch her play soccer. ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

I am not a good sports mom.
Was so happy when our son gave up soccer and baseball and I was no longer bored to tears.

i like the idea of extreme sports like 'mma' . I also like where people are dropped off in jungles or extreme situations with NOTHING except their arms , legs and hands plus brains and maybe a knife to make their way to civilization . Cage fights to NEAR death for the loser would also be ok . --------------- olympics is pretty wussy imo !!

My parents rarely came to my sporting events. Somehow, I survived.

Enjoyed watching the US ladies win 1st and 2nd in the floor exercise last night. And the interview afterwards was fun to watch. They are both such cute and fun girls.

heard that the USA swimming team may be in trouble with 'brazilian' authorities . Something about a robbery that the team reported but a robbery that never really happened .

Can anyone think of a reason why the athletes would make up such a story?

I cannot.

Unless one of them comes out and says they made it up, I'll go with.."crooked Brazilian authorities."

maybe add some excitement , be a hero survivor maybe , I don't know . I hear that the swimmers are home in the USA , will watch to see if mrobama allows their extradition back to brazil . Then maybe pay a ransom to get them back to the USA .

I have lots offree time now so I am enjoying th olympics instead of the usual tv shows I watch.

but

My big complaint is with boxing. I do like the no safety headgear in effect this time, but the judging is absolutely horrid. Its so darn obvious that judges ar extremely biased in their w/l of a bout. In a few rounds of one particular fight, boxer A was clobbering boxer B in the first and second rounds by a huge margin. It was completely obvious, but the judges gave both rounds, plus the :( 3rd one to Boxer B. Kinda like real boxing I suppose.

Last I heard, the swimmer that won the medal..(Ryan?)..is back in the U.S.

The other swimmers are now essentially hostages..having had their passports confiscated..they cannot leave Brazil.

This doesn't surprise me. I've already noticed the rudeness of the Brazilian fans
