What I see..is two photos of a stone wall, in which someone wedged a small rock..or something.

On Steve's enlargement, it appears that there is a face in the crack between the bricks.
Is this supposed to be a small creature, or is the illusion that the rocks appear to have a face.
I'm sorry for all this confusion on your post.

I don't get it. Rock, animal, mud clod? Certainly not the best anything I have ever seen.

Other than being fascinating ... to think there's a rather ordinary object and (or in) the wall. It's not hidden. It's right in front of you and you'll slap yourself silly when you see it. By the way, I did not get it.

It looks to me like it could be the sole of a tennis shoe with a piece of gravel in it, but I don't understand what the optical illusion is.

I looked up the secret on another site and I'm still not greatly impressed. It is just a matter of careful positioning and the fact that you can't see 3D on a computer screen.

I don't see how it qualifies as an optical illusion. It's just an object that's hard to see unless you enlarge the picture.

OK, please spell it out in detail for me.
I thought to be called an illusion it should look like "a" but upon closer examination, it is "b"
Tell me what I am supposed to see.

The gray thing is cigar ash on the end of a cigar that is lodged in the wall.

So? It's optical and it's illusory.
For me that constitutes and illusion that is close enough.

I don't think it's lodged.
It's just there in the air.
