I consider this a "comfort food"--probably not acceptable to some, as it is a casserole with unhealthy ingredients. :)
New Orleans Spaghetti
1 pound hamburger
1 can mushroom soup
1 can tomato soup
1 medium onion- chopped
1/4 tsp paprika
salt and pepper to taste
16 oz spaghetti
1/2 pound velvetta cheese

In large pan:
Brown the meat with the onion, simmer about 15 minutes. Add the soups and spices, simmer 15 minutes.
Cut the velvetta cheese into chunks, add to the mixture and stir until the cheese is melted (lower heat so the mixture won't scorch)
Pour over cooked spaghetti and serve.

Optional: add a dash of chili pepper and a can of chopped mushrooms (drained)

Librarylady......yes, it doesn't seem all that healthy BUT THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT COMFORT FOOD! A lettuce and tomato salad sure isn't comfort food to me.

I'll be trying this, for sure. Hubs is anti-tomato sauce right now, but I'm going to sneak in tomato soup (my fav!) I make homemade pizza and I can only sort of kiss the dough with the tomato sauce. What I should do is make my half with the regular amount and just put a little on his half. But I keep forgetting. I've made it for so many years, I just go into auto-mode. I'm going to break that habit!

Will have to try this. Hopefully if the girls don't see me make it, they will eat it.

Kids in family call it cheesy spaghetti and like it.
One BIL does not like it, but everyone else does.
