Hillary said, "We live in a Constitutional Democracy." No, we don't. We live in a Federal Republic.

People should keep in mind that Hillary would have won this election (assuming the same vote) if the proposed National Popular Vote initiative were law, as it is very close to being. This interstate legal compact will go into effect when enough states ratify it to amount to 270 electoral votes and it is already most of the way there. Under this plan each participating state would award all its electoral votes to the candidate that wins the national popular vote, regardless of how the state itself votes. In other words, all future presidential elections would be decided by a mass of Democrat-controlled cities across the country like Chicago, Los Angeles, and Detroit, where illegal voters and voter fraud could run the total as high as they want to make it. As things stand, voter fraud doesn't make much difference at the national level because most of the states in which it is a problem will go Democrat in any event.

The National Popular Vote bill would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
The bill has been enacted by 11 jurisdictions possessing 165 electoral votes—61% of the 270 electoral votes necessary to activate it, including four small jurisdictions (RI, VT, HI, DC), three medium- size states (MD, MA, WA), and four big states (NJ, IL, NY, CA). The bill has passed a total of 33 legislative chambers in 22 states—most recently by a bipartisan 40–16 vote in the Arizona House, a 28–18 vote in the Oklahoma Senate, a 57–4 vote in New York Senate, and a 37–21 vote in Oregon House.

As someone said this morning, "Thank God for the electoral college." Of course now the losers will push even harder for the popular vote, doing away with the college, and the federal system of government.

Trump was against it until it got him elected:

It would have been for a democracy. Fortunately, we're not one of those. Michael Moore figured it out. The pollsters didn't have a clue
