A woman was caught in the act on camera stealing from a Cleburne couple's front porch on Monday.
Her face is clearly visible in the couple’s home surveillance video, and some people on Facebook say they might know the suspect, who looks more like a soccer mom than a thief.
Kevin Jones and his, wife, Aleisha got a quick and clear answer as to why four or five crosses were missing from their front porch.
"It's almost like she's shopping, you know,” said Aleisha. “She's looking, and, ‘Oh, do I want this one do I want that one do I want this one.’”
The woman can be seen nearly looking straight into the camera and picking the crosses off the wall, one by one.
"I thought it was a prank,” said Aleisha’s husband, Kevin.
“We're missing a cross from when we were on our honeymoon, a cross that an elderly friend has given me,” said Aleisha. “And I told my husband, ‘I think someone's robbed us.’”
Then, as if the crosses weren't enough, the suspect turned around and took Aleisha’s son's shoes.
The theft happened in the middle of the night, and what stuck the Joneses was how the unassuming the suspect was, boldly standing in front of two obvious cameras.
"Shocked!” said Aleisha. “The first thing that stuck out to me was the sunglasses on the head at 3:45 in the morning.”
Johnson County detectives have the video and are building a case.
The Joneses figure that whoever knows the woman will definitely recognize her from the surveillance video.
"And we sleep 10 feet from the front porch, and I just feel completely violated and scared,” said Aleisha.
The Joneses say they've talked to their neighbors on both sides of them, and none of those homes appear to have had a theft.
