My granddaughter, although a reader, has never read GWTW. I will present her with the book tomorrow. I don't recall how many times I've read it. In the preface, Pat Conroy says his mother had two books on the table: the Bible and GWTW.
What are some of your fondest memories of the book?

One of the top ten novels and movies of the 20th Century in my opinion.

"Babies? I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies"

At least I think it was from GWTW?

I saw the Japaneese subtitled translation when I was in Japan. It was called "Gone with the Window".

Marti, how old is your grand daughter?

Never read the book, but have loved the movie and have seen it numerous times.
It is one of the few movies that I will view a second time.

She is 17. She hasn't seen the movie either. The first time I read GWTW I was 13... I'm surprised you haven't read it. We both love civil war stuff

I didn't know anyone else felt that way about GWTW. I liked the Carol Burnett version much better!
