DeVos was absolutely annhialated at the hearings tonight. Of course she'll probably be approved. That weasel Lamar Alexander has seen to that.

Define annihilated.

Didn't watch any hearings today.

I'm going to guess it means..the people that desperately want to maintain the ugly beaurocracy at the Dept of Education..worked very hard to discredit her.

That's right Rusty. The system works great just how it is,lets not allow any improvement.

I too like the idea of federal school control, the hell with states and local school districts having any control.

The very thought that a teacher should be fired for not teaching is just crazy. I mean if we had teachers that taught their kids then how would we staff those schools where 60% of students test way below grade level?

It's down right un-American for a parent to want a voucher system so their child could go to a, gasp, better school or ,double gasp. a faith based school.

Look at the great things the teachers unions, oops,I meant to say the Department of Education, has given us, Common core and Michelle's healthy lunch program.

Not to mention I love the concept of billions of dollars going to Washington to pay bureaucrat's salaries, so they can send back a portion to the states.Makes great sense.

So lets all stand together to block someone so blind as not to see how well the unions are running/sp/ruining education.

Senate Democrats made fools of themselves, as usual.

That's pretty much it.

I watched that and didn't see any problem with her testimony and the answers to questions. But I didn't watch the complete testimony, only about an hour or two. I liked her answers. I really, really dislike and want the Dept. of Education GONE.

I don't care for the Federal Department of Education either. But that's totally beside the point. If there's going to be federal agency, at least have someone at the helm who has a least "some" experience in the field.
Okay, let's appoint Dr. Pepper as Surgeon General and Mr. Mcfeely, the mailman from the misterrogers program as Postmaster General.

I have a wife who's a teacher, but she's not protected by the government and definitely not any teachers union.
Teachers are not allowed to unionize in Texas.

You said you don't care for the Dept of Education.

Putting someone in charge that comes from the world you wish them to come from, assures that nothing there will change.

The person must come from an adversarial group.

..and I know that YOU know..your response was particularly dumb..a deliberate deflection.

..which means you're quite uncomfortable having this conversation.

Read my response again..it was clearly about the Dept of Education..not "education"..

"You said you don't care for the Dept of Education.

Putting someone in charge that comes from the world you wish them to come from, assures that nothing there will change.

The person must come from an adversarial group of the Dept of Education.

You wish to respond again?

No, I just want to watch you keep digging your hole. That's good enough for me.
