400 Oil Tankers Set Ablaze by Magnetic Mines in Kabul
Christof Lehmann (nsnbc) : Four-hundred oil tankers were set ablaze in the Arghandi area in the Paghman district at the outskirts of Afghanistan’s capital Kabul. The massive blaze was caused when magnetic mines, placed underneath at least two trucks were exploded. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid justified the blaze, saying that the tankers fueled the war waged by foreign forces in Afghanistan.
Gul Aqa Hashimi, the Chief of the Department for Criminal Investigations of Kabul Police, reported that the blaze was caused when magnetic mines, which had been placed underneath some of the hundreds of oil tankers, were brought to explode.
The magnetic mines had been placed underneath at least two trucks which both had arrived in Kabul from Maidan-Ward, said the Chief of Criminal Investigations according to the Bakhtar News Agency. Hashimi added, that this was the result of a preliminary investigation and that police specialists will conduct a thorough investigation once all of the fire extinguishing efforts have been completed.
