A friend sent this note:
Turns out that most of the
writers have math degrees of one sort or another and veered into
comedy. In many cases the math is incidental to the plots but in
others it's central. I've just finished the section on Peter's
favorite number... There are periodic tests between some chapters and
I'm doing okay so far.
