Married people...

Postby crocmommy » Wed Jul 17, 2019 10:46 am

I have a question so thought it would be interesting to start a topic for things us married folks deal with.

My first question:

Guys when you are going out somewhere with your wife, does reminding her every 5 or 10 min that "we need to be leaving now or at X time" really do you any good? Didn't do mine any good last night...

Depends on whether it’s really time to leave..if it’s not, I guess he’s being a pain in the butt.

If it is time to leave..you’re screwing up hugely by not doing so.
If you’re “woke”..you’re a loser.

I was married a long time, 19 years, but have been single for the past 34 years. I cannot remember being late or waiting on my wife.

I once cared about being on time, but the older I get the less this matters to me if I show up a little late. At my age, I have earned the right to go places on my timetable, and that works for me.

I had to fix my hair and makeup when I got home. Very important stuff.

Turns out we had PLENTY of time to eat and go to the concert.

My wife is generally the punctual one. I let her know what time I need to be places, and she helps me make sure I am.

The way you asked the question I assumed you meant leaving a party or someone’s home or something like that to go back to your own home.. or somewhere else.

No, I learned about 30 years ago they need to put their make up on and do their hair..Don’t want to try to rush them through that

We were going to a concert at House of Blues to see Men without Hats and Howard Jones. He was being anal about getting there early. Turns out the concert was running behind schedule so glad we didn't get there as early as he wanted.

When making plans, we will discuss when we want to leave as part of the planning process. There really isn't much to see in College Station, if we are going to go do something it will be Astros in Houston or Stars in Dallas.

She did go to see Michael Buble in concert Saturday, in Denver. My daughter took her. I could not gos as I had to be at a conference in Austin; lucky for me as Buble is not someone I would want to see in concert, so it was a win win situation.

I am the one who has to tell him time and time and time again that we need to leave.

After all these years, I tell him, "We will need to leave about __ to get there on time." Then I contain my agitation and wait. He will not leave 1 minute before the appointed time.

I am very OCD on being on time. I normally arrive 10 minutes early for appointments. I allow delay times when traveling on LBJ, 'cause we know that will happen.

“If you wish never to be late, you must always be early.”

I made that up years ago, I just like to see myself in quotes.

..and these days, I never get on any freeway without GPS guiding me for traffic, all the way.

If you are on time, you are late.

I find that I am early for the things I want to do. If I not, close enough to start time works....
