We'll take that win.

Hopefully Guzman will be back. I love his play at first.

Joey Gallo is headed back to Arlington to have his hand/wrist examined. They fear he has broken a hamate bone. If so, surgery will be necessary.

Gallo coming home for further evaluation. Probably out for a month.

Calhoun called back up. This is probably making him crazy.

Gallo is going to have the surgery. The history of that surgery is that it takes 4-6 weeks to make a return...

The Rangers should be well out of the race by that time. They should just keep him on the shelf until next spring.

Calhoun needs the reps. And he's tired of the yo-yo he's been riding.

Evan Grant reports that Gallo's absence will be six weeks.

I'd just go ahead and put him on the 60 day DL and be done with it.

Another nice win in that chamber of horrors. And a good outing for Lynn - had to pitch out of a jam a couple of times.

The players are showing signs of life again. They are now only 5 games back in the wild card race.

However, more important than the five games is that they need to overtake four teams, including two of Tampa, Boston, and Cleveland. I just don't see that happening.

Tampa may be doable. They are really beat up. However, Boston and Cleveland both appear to have finally woken up. Boston's hitters and Cleveland's starting pitchers can carry them a long way.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa was activated and optioned to Nashville Saturday. He'll play there every day for now.

I'm betting the Rangers will try to move Mathis and Federowicz before the deadline. Then Kiner-Falefa will be back.

Chris Martin has been traded to the Braves. Jose Leclerc is now the closer by default.

Some teams have inquired about Leclerc. Given his disappointing season, the Rangers could be anxious to cash in on him and unload that contract. We shall see.

Multiple reports say that the Rangers will designate both Asdrubal Cabrera and Tim Federowicz for assignment Friday.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Jose Trevino will be joining the Rangers. Apparently, Kiner-Falefa will become the every day third baseman, which is strange since he was converted to an full time catcher just last winter.

I heard about Cabrera this morning. He was no Beltre, but I thought he held his own pretty well.

I thought they said last night that IKF would become full time catcher. Mathis ain't that great.

The best third baseman in the organization doesn't want to play the position. I think that's bullshit.
