Leclerc shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the field in the ninth inning.

Nice to have a sweep before going on the road but the Tigers aren't very good.

Yeah I saw that too. Lynn must have been sweating bullets that Leclerc was going to blow his win.

He redeemed himself a little on Saturday but he's still a white knuckle ride in the ninth.

Cabrera has signed with the Nationals. Hope he does well. I liked him.

It's been about 10 days now since I've been able to watch the Rangers. The dispute between Dish and the Fox regional sports networks has taken the Rangers from me. I've been a Dish customer since 2013. My monthly bill is about $185.

It just so happens that my daughter starts a new job with AT&T this Thursday. Our understanding is that AT&T employees and their families get big discounts. I will definitely look into this. I may become a DirecTV customer soon.

Per MLB Network, the Rangers and Indians have been cancelled due to rain tonight, and will play a traditional double header tomorrow.

I think "traditional" double header means play game 1, take a break of about 20-30 minutes, and then start game 2.

The Indians have to be in Minnesota Thursday. The Rangers have an off day.

Are there double headers where you have to have separate tickets for each game?

That's how most double headers are done nowadays. They call them day/night double headers. Play game 1 at 1:00 pm, clear the park, play game 2 at 7:00 pm. (or whatever time)

Double headers are no longer scheduled. They are now only a last resort response to a game cancellation. Gotta maximize that revenue, you know.

The Rangers most likely have another double header soon with the Angels to make up for game cancelled the day Tyler Skaggs died. The Rangers and Angels are both still on the fringe of the playoff race, so the game must be played.

I figured that was the case since that have to use the term "traditional" double header.

But what happens if different people have a ticket for the same seat at game 2 and game 3?

I'm sure the Indians aren't expecting a huge crowd, and the expectation is that the attendees and the ushers will be able sort everything out to everyone's satisfaction.

Texas Motor Speedway did a similar thing a few years ago when races were rained out on both Saturday and Sunday. They ran both races on Monday. They announced that everybody with a ticket to Saturday or Sunday would be admitted on Monday.

When your bleachers are at 25% of capacity, it's not hard to find a satisfactory seat for everybody.

There's always some ahole who insists he has a ticket for that seat and has no intention of taking another one.

This is what the Rangers got for trading away the final two months of Chris Martin's contract last week. Kolby Allard will be starting against the Brewers tomorrow night.

This capsule is from one year ago. The 9C rating means Allard's potential is that of an elite player, and he has a 50% chance of achieving that potential...

7/31/2018 - Kolby Allard (LHP, ATL)
He's not quite 21 years old, but former first-round pick Kolby Allard is making his major league debut. No. 39 on our Preseason Top 100 list and the subject of Chris Blessing's glowing Eyes Have It report from a year ago, the 6'1", 190-pound Allard has long been a top prospect. His star has dimmed a little this year as his Dom dipped the higher he went in the minors (9.2 in A-ball, 7.7 in AA, 7.2 in AAA). Regardless of what his ceiling might be, his floor is clearly a major league starting pitcher, and in time perhaps a great one. With the potential to have three plus pitches, he has a ceiling as a projectable No. 2 SP. His two-seam fastball has solid arm-side run and drops off at the plate while sitting in the low-90s. His change-up has really improved and also has a late drop. But his curve is his best pitch, a true 12-6 offering. Again, Allard is only 20 years old, so he has time to improve and develop even more pitching skills. He will start a game and then we will see after the trade deadline if there is a place for him in the rotation or if he goes back to Triple-A for more work. A Cmd of 2.6 in Triple-A is fine, so he doesn't need much work, but a little more seasoning can always help such a young arm. He will be in the starting rotation sooner than later at this rate, and he should be a good one. Allard's career minor league line: 353.0 IP, 2.96 ERA, 2.6 Ctl, 8.2 Dom, 3.1 Cmd, 22 HR, .244 oppBA, 1.193 WHIP.
2018 STATS: Gwinnett (AAA) – 18 g, 18 gs, 6-4, 2.80 ERA, 109.1 IP, 2.7 Ctl, 7.2 Dom, 2.6 Cmd, 6 HR, .249 oppBA, 1.207 WHIP
CURRENT ROLE: Starter
POTENTIAL: #2 starter
RATING: 9C

Did they ever report a cause of death for the Angels pitcher that died?

That was some good pitching gone to waste Wednesday. (Not counting Chavez)

Let this thread slide during the miserable Minnesota series.

Three walkoff wins in a row. The only thing missing was not getting to see Mike Scioscia's bitter beer face.

And they have GOT TO keep Leclerc off the mound in the ninth.

Tomorrow will make three weeks since I've been able to watch a Ranger game....

Just about done with DISH, especially since one of their high-ranking officials said in an interview that they really didn't need the Fox Regional Sports Networks. I'm exploring various streaming TV services now. It will cost me an extra 50 bucks per month to up my internet service from 100 mbps to 1 gbps.

Raynaldo Lopez had a no-hitter through five innings against the Rangers Sunday. He was sick and becoming dehydrated, so he had to exit the game.

Aaron Bummer came out of the bullpen and lost the no-hitter in the sixth inning.
