AP:
AUSTIN, Texas - Texas quarterback David Ash, who missed most of last season with concussion symptoms, was injured again and will miss this week's game against BYU.
Ash took several hard hits in a 38-7 win over North Texas. Longhorns coach Charlie Strong says Ash didn't show any symptoms during the game, but that the coaching staff got a call later that night.
Ash ran for a touchdown and passed for another. But he also took several blows to the head, including a tackle when he bent low to pick up a fumble, and twice more when his helmet bounced off the turf.
Sophomore Tyrone Swoopes will start for Texas (1-0) against the Cougars (1-0).
David Ash - here we go again
Re: David Ash - here we go again
Tyrone Swoopes is from Whitewright in Grayson county. Very raw talent si we shall see. May be another long season for the Horns.

Re: David Ash - here we go again
Ash = TX Sam Bradford. The good HS QBs would rather play for A&M these days.
Re: David Ash - here we go again
George was musing this morning that he may be done.
Tyrone Swoopes, come on down . . .

Re: David Ash - here we go again
they're playing Houston, they don't need a QB
Re: David Ash - here we go again
Sorry, BYU, same thing. Don't know where I got Houston.
