I read it. I would say that there is always going to be anecdotal evidence that can support any opinion. I can find a few people on the right who think the 2020 election was rigged and Trump really won. But even at that, this statement was attributed to a few members of a city council. It was made over a year ago, and it died on the vine.

Having said that, if I'm a police officer I would welcome the idea of having some funds diverted to programs that would take "non-policing" duties out of my hands.
