I texted our old friend George yesterday and asked him how the Rangers could be so awesome in Toronto and so awful in Cleveland in the same week. It makes no sense.

Bochy got himself tossed out of the game last night, and it seemed to light a fire under the team. The bullpen pitched well in the 6-4 win over the Red Sox.

The Rangers, Astros, and Mariners are all now tied in the loss column. The Rangers have seven games against the Mariners in their final eleven. Those seven games will probably determine who goes to the playoffs and possibly who wins the division.

Every game from here on out will be intense.

As of the end of play tonight, the Rangers are back in first place in the AL West.

We are now two games up on both the Astros and Mariners in the loss column. We need to finish this Mariners series strong today, and then not have a letdown in Anaheim.

Not a great surprise - the Angels have shut down Trout for the rest of the year. And Ohtani is probably already somewhere in Japan. Hopefully the Angels are in full give-up mode.

This sweep of the Mariners was huge, especially coupled with the Astros getting swept by the Royals. We need to not go to Anaheim and have any kind of letdown now.

Bochy takes the loss against Seattle. Leclerc has been pitching well (uncharacteristic) but Bochy decides to start the ninth with Chapman, who has been erratic lately.

Today should be considered another must win. That will get us a few days off and home field advantage for the ALDS.

Dunning and Perez did their jobs today. The bats were a complete no-show. Meanwhile, the D-Backs rolled over for the Astros.

We head to Tampa to try to win two of three.
