That didn't work out for MSNBC

Postby Sangersteve » Sat May 25, 2024 8:04 am

MSNBC didn't get the reaction they wanted.

MSNBC interviewed immigrants and minorities at the Bronx Trump rally. It did not go as planned for MSNBC:
"When you talk to immigrants that are going to these Trump rallies, they agree with his message on immigration. Their point is 'I did it the right way. I came here legally.'
The sentiment I heard from a lot of voters was 'We have these immigrants that the city is taking care of in a way that I've never felt taken care of by this city.'"

The mainstream media is apoplectic that their messaging is backfiring, and only creating more Trump supporters.

For their next trick, maybe they should ask working class stiffs about how they feel about being forced to pay off college debt for spoiled brat deadbeats.

My 91 year old Mother just got out of a week long stay in the hospital. She watches MSNBC all day long at home, loves Rachel Maddow, despises Trump. Dad says his vote cancels hers out. The hospital doesn't have MSNBC on their TV lineup, so they lost half their audience that week.

I feel like I'm parked diagonally in a parallel universe.

Here’s the $100,000 question. How many people who DIDN’T vote for Trump in 2020 will vote for him in 2024?

I doubt that he picked up any converts, and he’s going to need a shipload.

Black and Hispanic people are warming up to Trump.

Over 45:
2024: Biden +6; 2020: Trump +3 (net change: Biden +9)

Under 45:
2024: Trump +1; 2020: Biden +14 (net change: Trump +15)

Independents:
2024: Trump +7; 2020: Biden +13 (net change: Trump +20)

Nonwhite:
2024: Biden +11; 2020: Biden +45 (net change: Trump +34)

Here's a few that might.

So you think Trump’s picking up a bunch of new votes?

I think you’re smoking funny cigarettes.

A lot of people will vote for Trump if the alternative is Biden as the lesser of 2 evils. If the Dems are smart they will dump him.

Also ask working class stiffs how they feel about the Trump era tax cuts that are going to expire while corporate tax cuts are permanent.

By all means, let's make US corporations less competitive by raising their taxes. They can lay off some of those workers and save them from the ignominy of paying taxes.

Sure it is. If you look back at my post, you will see that I didn’t say anything about raising corporate taxes.
You must have misread the post, or you didn’t and are attempting to change the subject. ;)

Semantics. If the corporate tax cuts expire, it's a raise in taxes.

If Brandon is re-elected..he will allow the Trump tax cuts to expire.

That raises taxes on everyone.

Exactly right. President Trump got the best deal he could get with the slimmest of majorities (51-49) in the Senate, and a few coastal left wing Republicans being a part of that majority. Blaming President Trump for these tax cuts having an expiration date is just stupid.

Fact: Any time tax rates go up, it is because Democrats want tax rates to go up.

One more thing: A tax on a corporation is a tax on all of that corporation's consumers. Anybody that knows anything at all about business knows that taxes aren't absorbed. They are passed on to consumers in the form of higher prices.

Indeed, "All Leftists lack critical thinking skills."

You’re still missing the point. I never said, or even implied th the corporate tax cuts should expire. The individual tax cuts should have been permanent

Trump should have thought about that when made them temporary.

If Biden doesn’t extend them, then Trump screwed up in the first place.
