I couldn't believe it last year when Colorado hired their new coach from an obscure black college in the south east. Why? Yeah he was a good player for the Cowboys. But, what does that have to do with being a coach?
Here at the Fort you can go for weeks and never even see a black person!

What does skin color have to so with it? Deion Sanders took a one win team and made it bowl eligible in two seasons. That seems like a pretty good job of coaching to me, and his skin color is irrelevant.

It doesn't. But, Colorado is a very liberal place and they probably considered a black coach a plus. And I suspect that was why he was hired. But, Deion was special as a player. That didn't mean that he could coach.

Shedeur Sanders will not face suspension for appearing to shove a Big 12 official during Colorado‘s Week 13 loss to Kansas on Saturday, according to Buffzone.com’s Brian Howell.

The incident, which occured during the second half after Sanders was sacked, is being “handled internally with CU,” according to Howell’s report.

After the play, Sanders appeared to take exception to the Kansas reaction to the sack. The game’s white hat, who is regarded as the main official during the contest, tried to come between the Colorado and Kansas players.

With his back to the Colorado contingent, Sanders appeared to extend his left forearm which came into contact with the back of the referee. Everyone was then broken up and play resumed. No foul was called on Sanders for the play.

The game’s broadcast flipped to FOX rules analyst Mike Pereira after the incident occurred. He said that Sanders was “lucky he wasn’t ejected from the game.”

After reviewing the replay, Pereira called it a clear shove. While the officials can get in the middle of a scuffle to shut it down, he said players can’t, and he said Sanders could’ve been ejected.

“There’s no question that he does,” Pereira said on the FOX broadcast. “Look, I get why he’s upset because people are almost climbing over him after he was down. The officials can use their hands all they want to try to keep order but you cannot come back, as a player, and push an official. In the chaos, the officials don’t see it, but he’s lucky that he wasn’t ejected from the game.”

This means that Sanders will be available for Friday’s game against Oklahoma State as the Buffs look to win their ninth game of the regular season — something that hasn’t happened since 2016.

All signs also point to the matchup being Sanders’ last game playing inside Folsom Field, as he is expected to put his name in the 2025 NFL Draft when the season comes to an end.
