Broken Doctors for a Broken medical system

Re: Broken Doctors for a Broken medical system
Our Healthcare system became broke once it became profit-based. Why should they cure you when they could just make you feel better? After all, once you're cured, you no longer need their meds & services, losing them money.

I agree completely! I think I got better medical care in Texas than I do in Colorado. Once I was in the system here, I never saw the doctor again! Now, I only see his assistant. Now, I take over 20 pills a day! Drives me crazy!

When there is no profit to be had, no one will do much of anything worthwhile.
..especially people that have invested lots of time and money to be in the position to EARN a profit.

GFB is 100% correct. The potential for profit is what drives improvement and innovation.
The problem with our health care system is government involvement. Government involvement has skewed the market and driven up costs exponentially. Everything started going downhill in 1964.

Have you told Trump about this abysmal situation and demanded that he fix it?

You might have had a point 50 years ago or more. The country has changed along with most of the world.
Yeah, 50 years ago I hurt my knee and went to the hospital for a couple of days. They took me into surgery, but ultimately decided to put a cast on instead of cutting on me. Total bill: $140
What changed is the level of government involvement, which always drives prices up. Same thing happened with education. The more government has gotten involved, the more astronomical the cost.

I can agree with this. We paid cash for all 3 of our kids’ births. The last one in 1985.
Might not be able to do that today. But the. Big question is why has it gone South?
Government interference? Probably
Hospitals wanting higher profits? Probably
Cost of insurance? Probably
Point is there’s not ONE singular thing that you can point to.
