For those of us that live and work in the every day world, lower fuel prices are the very best thing that could happen. I universally drives down the cost of living.

As the energy industry and the investment banking industry goes in the tank, it's going to cost you a whole lot more that what you save in the gas tank.

All companies have to make a profit or they go out of business. But, the question is what does their ultimate owner, the stockholder make on his investment.

I have to fill up more often since the RAV4 has a smaller gas tank than the Sienna. If I filled the Sienna I could go 444 miles (the exact distance from our house to the house in Port Aransas. Now, I have to stop and fill up in LaGrange. That's very inconvenient. I used to stop in Victoria, fill up and then didn't have to fill up again until I was leaving the island. I know it's the same amount that I pay for gas, but when you have a 7 hour drive, you really hate to have to stop twice for gas.

Could someone explain to me exactly why diesel is so much higher? I can't remember. I do remember that it used to be cheaper back in the day.

I believe the huge price hikes in diesel happened when the government's requirement for low sulfur diesel came online.

I figured the government had something to do with it.

I saw $2.09 on my way into work. Wonder if the vending machine company is going to drop the prices of the items in the machines from when they raised the prices because of high fuel prices. Nah...not gonna happen.

Big Tex probably made a few thousand between yesterday and today's market action.

It is amazing what a few words from Grandma can do.
People don't realize that they are being screwed out of their savings. All they understand is the gas is cheaper. Nobody will tell them the truth.

All wealth begins with production. Then comes income. Savings and spending follows. All the rest is
Keynesian BS. Words from the FED doen't add 10 cents to wealth of the country.

Interesting, no need for an item someone wants, Just start producing, income will follow.

so back to the price of gas, think I paid $2.09 the other day, it was less than $18 to fill my car. Saw premium for just over $3.00 in CA a week ago, it was $4+ in July

I didn't say all production produces wealth. I said all wealth begins with production.
While we consider lower gas prices a good thing, every dollar we save is a dollar less earned by a company in which a lot of people have their retirement invested.

1.99 all over Farmers Branch, Carrollton, The Colony and Lewisville (all places I visited today)

News story said it should drop between now and Jan.1, so I just filled 1/2 full.
