Busier than a one legged man in an

Postby Sangersteve » Wed Jan 07, 2015 7:27 pm

That describes the last three months of 2014, and the forecast reads for the rest of this year.

We took on another service tech early in 14, and added a third around July. Machine sales are up and we were to travel to Ohio in December to train on a new control system.

The training was canceled due to lack of class size, but we got our training by having to do start-ups on this new machine control.

We as a group are expected to be the experts on this equipment, My approach to customers has always been brutal honesty, I told the first customer that I had never seen one of these machines and we would figure it out together.

We're five machines in now with another scheduled for next week. We are now comfortable with them enough so that our team identified a problem in mfg.and issued a corrective action to the maker and a nation wide service report in order to help other guys, who have yet to see one of these.

Now do I still punch the retirement ticket in June and just run a crew, or keep on hitting the streets?
It's a joke son,I say a joke

Do you enjoy doing it? I think that is the question.

I think I'd be happier if I could just work during busy season, but can't afford to do that yet.

It goes without saying that you are not going to be the type to "retire" and sit around doing
nothing. Is there something you have always wanted to do but never the time or freedom?
Running the crew and doing something for fun is not a bad option.

Will Donna put up with you hanging around the house?

I had an answer prepared this morning then got busy working.

Questions for you to answer (to yourself - we don't need to know your personal stuff 8-) )

Do you just need a vacation or do you really want to give it up?

Do you have IRL activities to jump into that will keep you as physically and intellectually active?

Do you have other real-life social interaction (other than family and cyber-peeps) that will fill the void of talking to customers and colleagues?

Does Donna want you to retire? Does she have a list of things for you to do that you want to do or would just end up doing because you're retired? Is she eager for you to be off the clock and enjoying your own time?

Could you/do you want to "retire" but start a training program to teach others this type of work? (I'm thinking middle-aged, displaced guys who would be eager to learn and have the patience and maturity to stick with it.)

Can you afford to do without the income (and whatever benefits there might be), even if something (heaven forbid) happen to the stock market or other catastrophe struck?

Good luck! ;)

From one who's been there, done that.
1. Do you have a good TV?
2. Beer money?
If yes to both, your good to go. :D :D
Wait! One more. Have you reached Critical Mass?
Make America Great Again. Impeach Trump! :P
