I wouldn't open carry. It just makes one a target to a bad guy.
I think it's good that people have the right to open carry if they want to.
I think Darwin's law should have plenty of room to operate.

No, it's not about that for me, man.

I don't go anywhere that people could be robbing or shooting up.

It wouldn't be about anything but.."yeah, that's right..I get to do this you clueless dipshit".

(Not you..just generic liberal)

Lots of times.

And I have two friends I go with..one has a WW2 era M1 carbine with 30 or 40 round clips..can't remember which.

And another friend with a AK 47..pre ban..also has larger clips.

I've been to Burro canyon and LA shooting club , I liked LA shooting club but not sure if its still open . Burro canyon is / was also pretty nice . I think that Burbank has an indoor gun range and there may be ranges around LA by the airport . Might still be lots of ranges . People used to go to the desert out past Mohave way past California city , then to the left to a road into the desert about 5 miles .

Good to hear you are getting to shoot.

I do go places where I might be in danger.

Why does the Texas legislature need to approve something that guaranteed by the second amendment?
The United States Constitution is under attack by the Democrat/Communist party.

I don't believe I'd ever open carry for the same reason Red Oak gives. Arizona has open carry and they haven't had a problem with it, though.

I think people have the right to own guns but I don't want to see them.
I'll be very nervous around a person lugging a gun around and I'll pray that they are sane. I think if I saw someone openly carrying an a store I'd leave.
I don't worry about what I can't see but I do wonder why a person feels the need to carry a gun at all. That's just me. I am not a gun person.
Working to love my fellow person regardless : >

What good does a gun do you if you have it locked up at home when you really need it ?

It is akin to try and fasten your seatbelt as the accident is in progress, it just ain't gonna work out too well.

yeah , run out to buy a fire extinguisher when you have a kitchen fire going or go looking for a spare tire when you have a flat tire in the middle of nowhere . Thing about having a gun handy is that you don't need a gun until you really need a gun .

Unlike many or most "Gun People" I understand that there are many law abiding people that don't want anything to do with guns; and I am fine with that.

I understand that they are not comfortable with a weapon for diverse reasons; competency, pacifism, religious reason whatever.

I generally have a firearm of some sort within easy reach. At home, in my vehicle and sometimes on my person. All members of my family are able to
use firearms.
Out of sheer stubbornness I chose to not get a concealed carry permit.

Because the 2nd amendment only applies to federal law.
In McDonald vs Chicago (2010), the Supreme Court extended it to limit other governmental agencies, as well, and allowed "reasonable restrictions".
The right to limit open carry is probably one of these reasonable restrictions although it has never been tested in the courts, as far as I know.

Translation...the Supreme Court has a long history of ignoring the Constitution and making crooked decisions.

I think that that may be correct Greg , I see lots of disdain for the men in black robes every once in awhile . Everything from obamacare 'john Roberts' to gun Rights and private property Rights .
