I do, mine is not one of the leading Wall Street Pirates.

Cruz on Goldman-Sachs

“Goldman is one of the biggest banks on Wall Street, and my criticism with Washington is they engage in crony capitalism,” he said. “They give favors to Wall Street and big business and that’s why I’ve been an outspoken opponent of crony capitalism, taking on leaders in both parties.”

The candidate said that like other firms, Goldman seeks out and receives favors from the government.

"I think they’re entitled to practice their business, but without subsidies or special benefits,” he told John Heilemann and Mark Halperin.

Cruz mentioned the Dodd-Frank Act specifically, saying that it has failed on its promise to stop “too-big-to-fail” institutions” from growing.

Goldman Sachs received $10 billion in taxpayer money from the Treasury following the 2008 financial crisis, repaying the funds with interest in less than a year.

Sorry, all of that is just one big ball of confusion on the part of Cruz..if he is where it comes from.

..and what I meant was..you should own your OWN investment bank.

That is what the most successful people do. And if you don't have your own, like me..we should at least be able to admire the best and most successful..lest we become "occupiers."

Cruz says the right things about Goldman-Sachs; we will see his actions.

I don't like crony-capitalism and handouts/bailouts, no matter what party the enablers of it are from.

They key is in your own post.."no matter what party enablers of it are from."

What the heck are you aiming your ire at a Wall Street and Goldman Sach's for?..when you KNOW where this comes from.

Cruz sounds like the financial version of Al Sharpton..and yes, he sounds like the Occupiers.

In this case Greg, the Politicians and appointed officials rotate between Guberment and Pirate Outfits like Goldman-Sachs, Citi, Morgan Stanley etc.
The role of the Federal Government should be in my opinion, in general, to enforce reasonable laws and create a level playing field; not to reward or punish one company over another.

I am off to my CPA/Enrolled Agent this morning.

I am trying..and always DO try..to do what Goldman Sach's and everyone in between does.

Get around and/or avoid excessive taxation and government..and if I could have influence beyond that?

..oh yeah!

This post makes sense..and is 180 degrees from what Ted Cruz had to say.

From you, Red..I learned the the South was not necessarily the bad guys in the Civil War..they may even have been the good guys.

These concepts.. are what you should learn from me.

But it sounds like you already know them, just throw out that anyone other than the government is to blame.

That's for the occupiers.

..and to name matters worse..when you direct ire at Wall Street..you'll get more government for sure..how else could those evil investment banks be punished..or brought under control?

When there is less government, the bankers will have no reason to cozy up to them.

What I am trying to say, is to some extent Wall Street is the Government, and the Government is Wall Street; and it should not be that way.

Ultimately in is the fault of American Citizens, that the incestuous relationship exists between them, but politics makes their little heads hurt. :)

"When there is less government, the bankers will have no reason to cozy up to them."

A very true statement, and applies to many other things.

Companies should not have to Lobby the FEDGOD to run a legal profitable business; and to some extent they now must do it.

..while I would like most of the Federal government to go away..I also say.."God Bless Capitalism." and that definitely includes Wall Street.

Ted Cruz is obeying the law, even if he disagrees with it....

I know that is a foreign concept to Obama and all of his little Obamatrons on the Left. They just ignore the laws they don't like.

Mark Davis..subbing for Michael Medved today was right.

Ted Cruz should have gone right to the marketplace..like I do.

I do it because it is what I've aleays done..and I certainly don't want to go on the dole, or in any way want anything to do with Obamacare.

He should have done it for a much bigger reason..no one would ever be able to tie him to Obamacare.

I think it was dopey.

By Law members of Congress are required to go through the exchanges, I believe Senator Grassley authored that Bill; to prevent members of Congress from being exempted from Obamacare.

Cruz should have been able to purchase Health Care Insurance, or not, at his option.

As should any Free Person.

that's my problem with the MANDATE , the idea that you are required by government to purchase health care is UnAmerican .

I agree..nor should I have to pay for other people's health care. I think that's criminal.
