I think it depends of what you mean by "storm of Islam". If it means payback for the US invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq, the destruction of Libya, the support for terrorists in Syria, etc etc etc. yeah that's probably going to happen,

Muslims were attacking us..killing our leaders..hijacking our planes..and terrorizing Christians long before any of that.

They hate us for who we are, not for what we do.

Islam exists to forcibly convert the world to it's way of thinking.

My father was one training to do just that..after spending 2/12 years chasing the Germans from Sicily north throughout Italy.

No invasion would have been necessary.
Japan was ready to surrender and had made overtures to the U.S. offering surrender if we would guarantee they could keep their Emperor.
We had already decided to do that anyway.
MacArthur, Eisenhower and various other Generals and Admirals argued against the Bomb and argued in favor of accepting Japan's offer.
Dropping the Bomb was a political decision, meant to scare Stalin- nothing else.

Even after two devastating Atomic Bombs, Japan was slow to unconditionally surrender, there was no way the Allies were going to accept anything less.

Even after two devastating Atomic Bombs, Japan was slow to unconditionally surrender, there was no way the Allies were going to accept anything less.

Unconditional surrender was not a smart policy. We could have had a German surrender of it's Western Front months before we did, saving tens of thousands of lives on both sides.
I have already written about how the Pacific Theater could have ended. Japan would have surrendered as early as April of 1945, had we accepted their single term of keeping the Emperor. That would have spared us most of the Philippine campaign as well as Okinawa.

I can understand concern about saving American and allied lives but I have no concern for Enemy lives that were lost . To me , the principle is Unconditional surrender or death to the enemy . The ENEMY got death in both Dresden and Japan bombings and then surrendered unconditionally . That's always the way it should always work, in my opinion !!.

All those years, everything just remained destroyed..but the good guys went right to work..building it all back.

Seems to me if you want to blame somebody for the deaths of innocent women and children in Japan . . . you could start with the Emperor.
