show me Proof that you BLED as you fought mrobama
Re: show me Proof that you BLED as you fought mrobama
No it doesn't - not at all - it requires fewer.
Look at the labor participation rate in the last 10 years.
Legal Immigrants on the whole as a group, are a drain on the welfare industrial complex, currently.

What 50 workers did in 1910, is now done with 1 worker I would guess.

Personal experience for my entire life [including parents and extended family] is that you start out with little and as time goes by you start having excess . I dislike immigration the way its been run ever since REAGANS amnesty so I haven't been anti immigrant forever . Course , I never believed lefty 'emma lazurus' silly poem either . Hey , we got immigrants or refugees disrupting in Lewiston Maine , Minnesota and all over the country as I linked and many are on welfare as they push for more welfare !! Plus I don't like importing a population of millions of foreigners where some of them fly from the USA to Iraq to fight for 'isis' to someday fly back to the USA to make trouble. And this is done to make money for business and 'chambers of commerce' and to provide voters for rinos and dems . 200 million in 1970 , 320 million in 2010 , 340 million [guess] in 2020 not counting illegals . In closing , I will live in a nice rural area for the rest of my life , will continue to do that but I'm glad that I'm not 15 years old . In the next election I'll vote for a conservative or if none are to my liking I'll spend my vote on someone else !! I've got my plan !!

You're thinking strictly in terms of some kind of assembly line type work.
That's going away..but 10,000 other job types have been created.
Think about the fast food industry alone. It didn't even exist in 1910.
Think about Starbucks, Apple Inc, Google..these types of businesses dwarf the number of employees needed in 1910.
If you’re “woke”..you’re a loser.
Re: show me Proof that you BLED as you fought mrobama
The Fast Food industry Greg is about to go robotic.
The demand for low skill manual labor has shrunk, and will continue to shrink, very rapidly.

If you were 15 years old, you would most likely be thinking about your future in that rural area..which offers little..and instead, think about your future move to a big city where all the jobs are, and where you would find a great life for yourself.
Oh sure, 40 years later, after you've found success in the big city, you could move to the sticks if you wanted to.

I'm not arguing, but I would like to know what you disagree with..young people have to go to where the jobs are..those jobs are not in rural areas.

Things change Greg, trust me on this one.
In addition to needing fewer workers, technology has facilitated the transfer of millions of Jobs out of the US; and this will continue to accelerate.
Smart machines are an emerging "super class" of technologies that perform a wide variety of work, both the physical and the intellectual kind, said Sondergaard. Machines, for instance, have been grading multiple choice for years, but now they are grading essays and unstructured text.
This cognitive capability in software will extend to other areas, including financial analysis, medical diagnostics and data analytic jobs of all sorts, says Gartner.
"Knowledge work will be automated," said Sondergaard, as will physical jobs with the arrival of smart robots.
"Gartner predicts one in three jobs will be converted to software, robots and smart machines by 2025," said Sondergaard. "New digital businesses require less labor; machines will be make sense of data faster than humans can."
Among those listening in this audience was Lawrence Strohmaier, the CIO of Nuverra Environmental Solutions, who said Gartner's prediction is similar to what happened in other eras of technological advancement.

And the jobs will dry up in Urban areas, for the same reason they dried up in Rural areas - technology.

Look at it this way..even with the worst possible President, who has the worst possible view on American success and business..the economy still grows.
Capitalism is a beautiful thing..a self policing thing.
If something is going in the wrong direction, someone comes along to find a way to do it right.

Sure, a few guys to design and build the gear, a few more to install and service the gear; which will replace a few hundred workers.

Greg I mean this is the best possible way, it is evident you are an "artist".
When people retire, they are replaced by younger workers, if there is a demand for that job.
Between technology and off shoring of jobs, there will be fewer and fewer people employed as a percentage of the population, bank on it.

No..younger workers are taking jobs and working in industries that retired people don't even know exist and will never understand.

Re: show me Proof that you BLED as you fought mrobama
I have a Clue about what we are discussing, it is part of my line of work, and I have worked "not played" in many cities, states, a couple of foreign countries. You have added nothing to support any of your positions. I may not be 100% correct, but I can provide references to why I believe what I believe. Do you have a College degree of any type ? In a Science of any type ?
Here is my prediction, based upon the work of people 100x smarter and more connected than I am.
When technology displaces workers, the replaced workers will be unemployed and mostly dependent on Wealth Transfer Programs; which the unemployed will vote for. We are at or past the tipping point now when more voters receive transfer payments, than are net contributors to the transfer programs. This will only get worse as workers are displaces, and immigration continues. On the best and brightest will be employable; and the great majority of legal immigrants, refugees, and illegal immigrants are not the best and brightest, IMO. A few immigrants are, and those are the ones we need to improve the US. Compounding this is the rapid increase in costs to employ people, driven by Guberment regulations and Laws.
Now to the interesting part, since a small percentage of the population will be productive, and a larger percent of the population redundant, how are the resources going to be divvied up ?

"No..younger workers are taking jobs and working in industries that retired people don't even know exist and will never understand."
If that is true, how does that jive with your statement "That will continue..the largest segment of the population..is now retiring." ?
It means that the younger workers are joining the work force at a smaller rate that the older workers are leaving, if the percentage of workers employed is declining ? Correct ?
Or are you just throwing out disjointed statements ?
