Re: Nuts
I like 'em all. Excepting Brazils and Hickorys.
I have almost no will power when it comes to Pistachios, Cashews and Pecans.
I read somewhere that Bill Buckley really liked "Cashew Butter" and made his
own at home.
I have a stupid, guilty pleasure of going nuts, so to speak, over the peanuts that
are baked? with sugar and flavorings. Just the smell of them roasting? makes
me salivate. Get'em while thar hot!
And I just got to put in a word for flavored popcorn. There's a guy who shows
up at the local farmer's market with caramel, cinnamon, salt and vinegar,
and all kinds of flavored corn. My favorite is grape! I can eat a huge bag in
an afternoon. (Apologies for going rogue on the topic.)

I LOVE cashew butter! My Brookshire's quit carrying it. It was outrageously expensive and worth every penny.
I also like raw peanuts though sometimes I roast them. The aroma does fill the house.
Can't imagine grape popcorn.

Re: Nuts
My dad likes nuts, so growing up there were always nuts of some type in the house in a bowl with a nut cracker near by and dry roasted peanuts were in the pantry, largest size available.
Favorite for me is a toss up between, macadamia , dry roasted peanuts and cashews

My dad loved nuts too. He had a wooden bowl with the nutcracker, pick, and whatever else on the dining room table for years. He frequently roasted his own peanuts. Later in his life he gave each of we kids a pound of pistachios, in the store bag, every Christmas. We came to count on them.
When I went to Austin, for his memorial service, among the things on a reminders of Ralph table outside the sanctuary were some of the silly toys we had given him for Christmases past and a bowl of pistachios. Those and the toy gorilla in the cage yelling "Get me out of here" brought on the tears and sobbing.
