I can imagine how a Muslim in Boston would be very worried if approached by the FBI saying they want to question them. So, they might want to carry a weapon to protect themselves from being assassinated. Can you legally carry a gun for self protection in Boston? I doubt it. So, I can imagine he might want to have a knife to at least have a chance at protecting himself. It is said that he "lunged at them". So, how else do you defend yourself with a knife against 2 or 3 armed men that are going to kill you. You pretty much have to lunge at them. And they we're not wanting to question him about a crime, just that they thought he could possibly be thinking about committing one. I guess that is a thought crime. I didn't know that was illegal.

Actually, what is important is why he is dead.
We seem to have an epidemic of cops shooting people in this country. There was an article about it in the paper this morning.
It may be that some police may have decided to deal with troublemakers outside the system. Instead of jailing them and spending all that time on paperwork, just kill them and claim it was in self defense. It's over quickly, no muss, no fuss, and few questions asked. Who would doubt the word of a cop just doing his job?
