One of my pet peeves.
The weathermen post these numbers on a map and I can't tell if they are real temperatures or made up numbers.
I don't need a windchill number or a heat index. I wish they would get rid of them.
Tell me the temperature and I'll decide for myself what it feels like.
Wind Chill and Heat Index
Re: Wind Chill and Heat Index
I decided long ago that wind chill (and its younger brother heat index) is a meaningless statistic. Let's say it's 32 degrees. They tell you that with the wind chill it feels like it's 25. But wait - when it's 25 degrees, the wind chill makes it feel like some other temperature, so how can you ever know what 25 feels like?
