Last night we did the Asian chinese buffet in Arlington. The amount of food was overwhelming. But all my 9 year old daughter could find to eat was sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. And of course, she had no problem finding the ice cream. Last time we go there we the kids.

Seems to me kids have gotten pickier about what they will eat. Maybe there are just too many choices.

I can tell you my brother and I got our Dad's money's worth when we went to the Southern Kitchen.

Sothern Kitchen was fantastic! We loved that place, but unlike your father, we didn't take the kids. We went with other couples.

Mom and Dad took us several times. That place was tall cotton for us. We loved the cocktail shrimp and the cinnamon rolls.

This was back in the 70's when I was growing up. People didn't eat our all the time like they used to. Someone posted the menu somewhere a while back and the prices didn't look that high to me, but things cost less back then so I'm sure it wasn't one of the cheaper places. By tall cotton, I really meant the whole experience of everything that was brought to our table and the service we got. It was a big deal to us back then.

In their original location on Harry Hines, the Southern Kitchen dinner was $4.50. By the time they closed in the 70's, it had gone up to about $25.

Crocmommy did you also eat at Little Bit of Sweden? That was pretty good, too. That was another place we'd drive the 50 miles to enjoy the food.

Never made it to The Shed or LIttle Bit O Sweden.

Did anyone here ever dine at Cafe Capri in Addison. Dad took me there a few times. They had a harpist in there.
